Our style of massage was designed to be a part of your on-going health care program. When used as such, injuries and illnesses can be prevented and or alleviated. You are a participant in your own healthcare program, and as a team, we will work to improve your overall wellbeing. However, we are not an emergency service, and cannot fix you completely in one hour.
We are not your typical massage therapy. By utilizing massage and bodywork techniques that have been passed down for generations, we are able to reverse imbalances in the body.
By participating in our massage program, you are investing in YOUR HEALTH. Regular massage and bodywork should be seen as an invaluable facet of a healthy lifestyle.
The Massage and Bodywork you receive from us will incorporate:
1. Seifhukujitsu: Japanese deep tissue/sports massage
2. Acupressure: Stimulation of particular points on the body to reestablish meridian energy flow
3. Stretching and exercising to tone and recondition muscles and soft tissue
4. Posture and lifestyle recommendations: to reverse the effects of gravity and occupational hazards
Seifhukujitsu was founded by Henry Seishiro Okazaki to provide a system of long-life restoration therapy. It is translated as "alignment and restoration techniques." Okazaki was an internationally known martial artist and therapist. He extensively studied several jujitsu styles as well as other martial arts back in the early 1900's. In addition to learning martial arts, he gained proficiency in the healing arts. Okazaki saw the value of reversing the effects of deadly and disabling martial arts by restoring and treating the body. Master Okazaki retained the best self-defense and restorative techniques that he found, and created his own system.

Starting Ju-Jitsu in 2001, I began learning Seifhukujitsu traditionally on the mat. Injuries in martial arts are common. It is necessary to reverse the damaging effects and heal the body in order to continue learning. In 2005, I attained a degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia, but found myself drawn back to the healing and martial arts. I have been working as a professional massage therapist since 2007, after completing the 738 hour board approved course. Since then, I have completed over 1,000 hours of additional training in this style. I have studied Tia-Yoga Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, Melting Soft Tissue and Japanese Restorative Massage from different instructors in continuing education. I love the connection between martial arts and the healing arts, and continue to learn as it is my passion!

My love of healing and helping people began early. As a junior in high school, I took my initial step with the Patient Care Assisting course through Swainsboro Tech. As a senior, I immersed myself in Ju-Jitsu and Seifhukujitsu, where I first learned about massage therapy and became fascinated. I took the apprentice-ship style massage course from Gary Lescak, who was both my Ju-Jitsu and massage instructor at Martial Arts Academy School of Massage. In addition, I studied with his wife Kathy Lescak, who was a Restorative Therapy Instructor, Reikki Master, Acupressure Instructor, and former Acupuncturist. I graduated from the massage course in 2007, along with Thomas Redfearn. While actively working as a licensed massage therapist, I completed my Pre-Nursing degree from East Georgia college in 2008 and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse from Georgia Southern University in 2010. My husband, Tommy, and I opened our first massage business, Long Life Medical Massage Therapy, in Statesboro Georgia in 2013. I have worked in nursing in multiple settings including Med Surg, Dialysis, and at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in the Endoscopy Unit. I have also worked as a Neurofeedback technician with Brighter Brains.
